Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and now based in Athens, Greece, Lorena Gilbert Diakaki is the creator and driving force behind π’cante—a brand shaped by her personal journey, lifelong love for fashion, and deep admiration for the grace, strength, and presence of women.

Her connection to fashion began in childhood, when she had her first experiences in the world of style and runway through her early involvement at her aunt’s modeling academy.

Life later took her through early motherhood and a successful career in marketing and sales before she returned to her creative path.

Throughout this time, she began shaping a vision for a brand that would speak to women seeking empowerment—women who want fashion to reflect their identity and celebrate who they truly are.

After relocating to Greece with her two sons, Lorena entered the tourism industry, working for nearly two decades alongside her husband. Her role allowed her to travel extensively and connect with people from diverse cultures—broadening her mindset and fueling her creativity. These global experiences became key ingredients in the aesthetic and identity she envisioned for the brand.

She later pursued her dream by earning a BA in Fashion Design from Middlesex University (UK) through AKTO College of Art and Design in Athens.

Her collections—featured at Athens Xclusive Designers Week and AKTO Fashion Shows—explore themes of resilience, femininity, and personal transformation. Each piece reflects her belief in fashion as a powerful tool of self-expression and inner strength.
